| GROUP THERAPY |
|
|
IEC provides a wide range of therapeutic and psycho-educational groups that are on-going or offered within a specific period of time. Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which one or more of our therapists treat a small group of clients together as a group. Within recovery, it has been found that the recognition of shared experiences and feelings among group members serves to remove a group member's sense of isolation, validate their experiences of shame and raise their level of self-esteem.
Our groups are facilitated by one of our certified sex addiction therapists (CSAT’s) with a goal to maintain a group consciousness of sexual sobriety, accountability and safety. Group therapy consists of weekly 1-½ hour sessions with 6-8 other consistent group members.

| Men's Sex Addiction Beginning's Group |
|
| Group members learn about the nature of addictive process, co-addiction, family of origin roles in their development, and healthy coping skills. Small group exercises, reading assignments and lectures are utilized to foster awareness. Group is open exclusively to male sex addicts. |

| Women's Sex and Love Addiction Beginning's Group |
|
| Group members learn about the nature of addictive process, co-addiction, family of origin roles in their development, and healthy coping skills. Small group exercises, reading assignments and lectures are utilized to foster awareness. Group is open exclusively to female sex and/or love addicts. |

| Spouses Group |
|
| Group members focus on healing feelings of anger, betrayal, loss and isolation. Treatment encourages self-awareness, boundaries and self-containment and is open exclusively to partners and spouses of sex and/or love addicts. |

| Men's Sex Addiction Intermediate Recovery Group |
|
Group members focus on long-term recovery and the development of healthy
inter-personal skills. Group is open exclusively to male sex addicts who have been compliant with their bottom-line behaviors for a minimum of six months and who
are participating in a 12-Step recovery program. |

| Women's Sex and Love Addiction Intermediate Recovery Group |
|
| Group members focus on long-term recovery and the development of healthy inter-personal skills. Group is open exclusively to female sex and/or love addicts who have been compliant with their bottom-line behaviors for a minimum of six months and who are participating in a 12-Step recovery program. |
